A fascinating observation of the city in darkness. Amazing to see how much of a community you were able to observe and depict in such a short time, without ever really telling us who they are. I was very taken by the vertical nature of this piece, the movement from ground to sky and back, over and over again. As if we are witnessing a modern day Persephone and Demeter, these human beings are rising and sinking from heaven to hell and back. Do they ever reach the vault of the sky, the WELKIN?
