Knowing that MOFFETTE is a noxious gas emitted from the ground, I wondered if the juxtaposition you created btwn the street level smoke stack and the 1950s family sitting at the hearth was intended to speak about the dangers of both entity’s. There was a sense of wealth and privilege in both scenes that in and of themselves would not feel critical but together conveyed a very strong, sense of ambivalence.
